Pumpkins have the distinct privilege of representing two Holidays…I can’t think of any other holiday symbols that get cross promotion.  Santa’s elfs aren’t lighting fireworks on the4th of July.  Cupid is absent from St. Patrick’s Day.  We don’t make hard-boiled eggs on Halloween.

Yet somehow, the pumpkin gets to to be in the spotlight for TWO major holidays.  We gut them and decorate them for Halloween and then we gut them and eat them for Thanksgiving.  The best reason I can come up with for this bi-holiday acceptance is that, lets face it…Pumpkins are YUMMY!!!  If hard boiled eggs tasted HALF as goof as pumpkin, we might actually have egg hunts more often.  Roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin ice cream and my personal favorite…Pumpkin Lattes (maybe the real reason fall is my favorite season is the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks…I add Mocha to mine though which makes it EXTRA-EXTRA yummy).  Pumpkins are pretty awesome:)

So to commemorate Holiday #2 for Mr. Pumpkin is my Pinterest Board of Pumpkins…this board contains several amazing pumpkin decor tutorials and even a shameless add of my little pumpkin from a couple falls ago…hey, I can’t help it if I’m a proud Mommy!!!  Over the next couple weeks I’ll be sharing a few ways to cook up your pumpkins too…although if we eat all the different yummy pumpkin recipes, I may have to start a diet blog after we are through…
