So, Halloween is in a week and I am not even close to being ready.  My to-do list just keeps getting longer and longer and I honestly think that the hours in a day shrink around holidays!!!  The good news is I DO have my kids Halloween costumes done…well, purchased.

Normally, I would have slaved over their costumes, sewing, decorating and making them totally hand made, but A wanted to be a cheerleader and they sell ADORABLE authentic cheerleader outfits.  I knew they would look way better than anything I could sew, soooo I consented to purchase a Oklahoma Cheer Outfit (Boomer Sooner).

I insisted, however, that I was going to make E’s costume…it being her first Halloween and everything.

I decided on Piglet from Winnie the Pooh and bought a pattern for a cute little pillow case style dress that I thought could be modified nicely into a piglet costume.

I was set to go pick out the fabric, on a day that ended up being one of  THOSE days.  You know the days you wish you really had just pulled the covers up over your head and gone back to bed.  So I’m frantically trying to at least end the day with the same number of items on my list that I started (instead of the about 10 extra things that were added!!!) when my mom called.

In my moment of weakness she was at Old Navy and they had a cute cupcake costume in E’s size…did I want her to buy it?…Yep, buy it…

So here are my non-handmade, non-creative, non-I-put-any-thought-into-this-other-than-a-credit-card costumes…

At least they are cute, right???

Then just when I had finally decided to forgive myself for not making their costumes…I finally catch up with this season’s Grey’s Anatomy in time to hear McDreamy burst my bubble. “Good moms make Halloween costumes“  thanks for that McDreamy…thanks a lot:(
